Jakarta Provincial Assists Bekasi Government Rp 250 Billion

Bekasi Mayor, Rahmat Effendi, met Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama at Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (10/28). In the meeting, Rahmat proposed the request funding as much as Rp 250 billion to Basuki for transportation infrastructure, layout, environmental, and cleanliness in Bekasi.

"We have say the amount, we wish it applied in 2015 City Budget (APBD). The Acting Governor does not argue the amount, the important thing is the benefit. It's about Rp 250 billion," said Rahmat.

With the budget, added Rahmat, will be focused to accelerate the building of infrastructure and integrated system of transportation, road, canal, and Green Open Space (RTH) in Bekasi. The budget is also allocated for flood handling program, He gives example, such as Pondok Melati and Pondok Gede. Because both of them boils down to the East Flood Canal (KBT) so will be cut through KBT.

His side promised that will directly start the program if the budget is disbursed. It is expected the program will run in a year. "Mr. Basuki told no need administration, just cut out to KBT. No difference between Bekasi and Jakarta people," he added.

Meanwhile, Basuki admitted that Jakarta Provincial will give the fund to Bekasi City as much as Rp 250 billion. "I will give more fund if it is asked. I don't care with the amount as long as the benefit is also for us," Basuki told.

This assistance is a follow up of the meeting between Ahok with all heads of the supporting head capital in Wisma Nusantara, Wednesday, September 17, 2014. During the meeting, the city plans to provide assistance at least Rp 100 billion to the regional partners in Jakarta in 2015.
